Geert Wilders Fitna Movie (Information)
10-1997 Wilders becomes a member of the municipal council of Utrecht, the fourth largest city of the Netherlands.
08-1998 Wilders becomes a member of the Dutch House of Representatives for the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD).
09-2003 Wilders report first threatening mails and publishes his Ten Points Plan:
- the VVD has to take a right-wing course,
- Turkey will never be a member of the E.U.,
- maximum driving speed must be lifted,
- money spend for development work must be halfed,
- fighting terrorism stands above personal privacy,
- after three violent crimes lifelong imprisonment,
- if integration does not work emigration follows,
- the government can only make a rule if two other are removed,
- reviewing the election system is futile, politicians with guts and the will to act are needed,
- if the choice is between ruling with a Purple government or opposition, the choice will be opposition.
09-2004 Wilders splits from VVD, because he is against talks with Turkey for E.U. membership, and starts his own party, named Group Wilders.
10-2004 MSN-website Jama'at Al-Tawheed Wal Jihaad shows a video containing a call to behead Wilders.
03-2005 Wilders publishes his Political Manifesto which he calls the Declaration of Independence. The manifesto has the same points as his Ten Points Plan, and points like:
- a ban on Islamic headwear in in public functions,
- close all doors for asylum seekers,
- a maximum of 5000 political refugees,
- 5 year stop on brides of foreign countries,
- a dramatic tax decrease,
- decreasing number civil servants to 50%,
- stop on enlargement E.U.,
- five prisoners in one cell,
- build feeding camps and discipline schools,
- more police, and use of army within public zones,
- deport criminals with a dual nationality,
- ban on Islamic schools,
- test children on knowledge about national identity,
- administrative reorganisation of provinces and government,
- closing the Dutch Senate,
- limit public television to a single channel.
05-2005 Wilders campaigns against European Constitution, and issues for a burqa ban.
02-2006 Group Wilders changes name to Party for Freedom. Wilders shows Danish cartoons on his website in support of the Danish cartoonists and freedom of speech.
03-2006 Wilders publishes his party program under the name Klare Wijn meaning Clear Language. The program has the same points as his Political Manifesto, and a call to remove the first article of the Constitution of the Netherlands, which is about equal rights (non-discrimination).
10-2006 Wilders talks about a tsunami of Islamisation threatening The Netherlands.
11-2006 The Party for Freedom takes nine seats (5.9% of overall vote) in the Dutch House of Representatives.
02-2007 Wilders says that Islamisation is part of a World War III, and for Muslims to stay in the Netherlands they have to tear out half of the pages from their Qur'an.
03-2007 Wilders issues a motion of distrust against secretary of state Ahmed Aboutaleb and Nebahat Albayrak, because they have a dual nationality.
04-2007 Security officials ask Wilders to nuance his criticism of Islam, because of anger by clerics in Arab countries. They tell him Ayatollahs call for revenge, varying from a fatwa to kill him, a boycott of the Netherlands, and the recalling of ambassadors.
08-2007 Wilders makes his plans for an anti-Qur'an movie known.
01-2008 Wilders says he does not want integration, but assimilation of Muslims. Dutch ministers keep secret meetings about the movie Fitna. Syria's Grand Mufti Ahmad Badr al-Din says that if Wilders burns a Qur'an in his movie, the Dutch people will be responsible. The International Film Festival for Children in Cairo was boycotting the Dutch.
02-2008 Pakistan blocks YouTube for several days because of a video believed to be a trailer for Fitna. Wilders receives a fatwa to kill him from Al-Qaeda (al-ekhlaas.net). The Taliban threatens to step up attacks against Dutch soldiers in Afghanistan.
